Advertising Policy For HomeServeAgent

Purpose & Scope

This Advertising Policy explains the types of advertising allowed on HomeServeAgent, the rules advertisers must follow, how ads are labeled and displayed, and how we handle sponsored content, affiliate links, and ad-related complaints. The policy applies to all paid placements, sponsored content, affiliate links, third-party ad networks, and promotions appearing on HomeserveAgent.

Editorial Independence & Separation

HomeerveAgent maintains a strict separation between editorial content and advertising. Advertisers and sponsors have no control over our independent editorial decisions. Sponsored or paid content is clearly labeled and should meet our editorial standards for accuracy and transparency.

Types of Advertising Accepted

We accept the following types of advertising, subject to compliance with this policy:

  • Display ads (banner, sidebar, in-content)
  • Native advertising and sponsored posts (clearly labeled)
  • Sponsored email campaigns
  • Affiliate links and performance marketing
  • Sponsored directories, listings, and promoted service profiles
  • Event sponsorships and branded content

Required Disclosures & Labeling

  • All paid content (sponsored posts, advertorials, product reviews) must be explicitly labeled with a clear disclosure such as “Sponsored,” “Paid Post,” or “Advertisement.”
  • Affiliate links must be disclosed within the page or post where they appear.
  • Display ads and native ads that resemble editorial content must include a visible label identifying them as advertisements.

Prohibited ad Content

Ads that fall into any of the following categories are prohibited:

  • Illegal products or services, or content promoting illegal activity.
  • False, deceptive, or misleading claims (including unrealistic guarantees).
  • Dangerous products or instructions that may cause harm (e.g., unsafe DIY medical/gas/electrical instructions presented as safe).
  • Adult, pornographic, or sexually explicit content.
  • Weapons, ammunition, explosives, or instructions for creating weapons.
  • Regulated goods requiring restricted sale or professional oversight (prescription drugs, medical devices, unlicensed legal/medical services, hazardous chemicals).
  • Hate speech, discriminatory content, or content that promotes violence.
  • Malware, spyware, or ads that redirect users to malicious sites.
  • Ads that infringe intellectual property rights or use trademarked material without permission.
  • Ads that collect or publish personal data without proper consent or that violate privacy regulations.

HomeserveAgent.com reserves the right to reject or remove any advertisement for any reason.

Sponsored Content & Native Advertising Standards

  • Sponsored content must be truthful, accurate, and non-misleading.
  • The sponsor’s relationship and any material incentives must be fully disclosed at the top of the article.
  • Sponsored posts must not contain hidden affiliate links or tracking that is not disclosed to users.
  • Sponsored content must follow the same safety disclaimers as editorial content when providing technical advice. For example, any content that touches on potentially hazardous home work should include a safety notice and recommend consulting licensed professionals.

Affiliate Links & Performance Marketing

  • Affiliate relationships must be disclosed clearly and prominently.
  • HomeserveAgent.com will not publish affiliate content that violates other sections of this policy (for example, promoting prohibited products).
  • Affiliate tracking must comply with applicable privacy laws and our Privacy Policy.

Third-party Ad Networks & Programmatic Ads

  • Third-party ad networks may be used at the site’s discretion. We require ad network partners to comply with industry standards (e.g., IAB) and applicable laws.
  • HomeserveAgent.com is not responsible for third-party ad content; however, we will promptly remove or block networks whose ads violate this policy or compromise user safety.

Data, Tracking & Privacy

  • Any user tracking or data collection for ad personalization must comply with our Privacy Policy and applicable laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Users must be able to opt out of personalized ads where required by law.
  • Advertisers must not require HomeserveAgent.com to disclose user-identifying data in exchange for ad placements, unless explicitly permitted by our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Ad Placement, Quality & User Experience

  • Ads must not interfere with site navigation or degrade the core user experience. Intrusive interstitials, auto-playing audio, or deceptive overlays are disallowed.
  • Ads should be technically safe and not slow page load time excessively. HomeserveAgent.com reserves the right to limit or remove ads that harm site performance.

Pricing, Refunds & Cancellations

  • Pricing, billing, and refund terms are defined in the advertiser agreement executed at the time of purchase.
  • HomeserveAgent.com may cancel or refuse ad placements that violate this policy; refunds or credits for cancelled placements will be handled per the formal advertiser agreement.

Review, Approval & Removal Process

  • All new ads and sponsored content are subject to review and approval before publication. Review typically covers content, disclosures, landing pages, and compliance with this policy.
  • HomeserveAgent.com reserves the right to remove any ad at any time for policy violations or harm to users or the site.

Complaints & Disputes

  • Users or third parties who believe an ad violates this policy should contact us at ads@homeserveagent.com with details and supporting evidence. We will investigate and respond in a timely manner.
  • Advertisers must address any legitimate complaints about their ads and may be required to modify or remove problematic advertisements.

Legal Compliance

  • Advertisers are responsible for ensuring their ads and landing pages comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., consumer protection, advertising regulations).
  • HomeserveAgent.com may require proof of licensing or certification for advertisers that offer regulated professional services (e.g., licensed electricians, plumbers).

Changes to this Policy

HomeServeAgent may update this Advertising Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted with an updated effective date. Continued use of the site’s advertising services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
